Original acrylic painting - 40cm hexagon
This piece didn't start out as a floral painting, when I brought the canvas i was planning on something entirely different, but as I worked, intuition took over and roses began to emerge from corner to corner. I created the leaves by dabbing the paint brush in two different colours, and carefully painted the roses in selected tones, balancing abstraction with recognisable form so they stand out while remaining expressive.
The hexagon shape added its own challenges and energy, guiding the composition in unexpected ways. The result is a lively, abstract floral piece full of movement, colour, and the playful spontaneity that comes from following instinct.
