About Me
My Story

My creative journey began in childhood, where I naturally gravitated toward art and creative expression. Growing up in the countryside of North Devon, surrounded by animals and open landscapes, I developed a strong connection to nature that continues to influence my work today.

As I got older, I studied performing arts in college, exploring different forms of creative expression. After college, I went on to experiment with special effects makeup, which helped deepen my interest in detailed, hands-on creative work.

Over time, I found myself drawn back to painting. While working full time in other roles, I used my spare time to create, gradually building a deeper connection to landscape painting and, more recently, animal portraits.

Working closely with animals in my day-to-day life has naturally strengthened this focus, and much of my recent work is inspired by time spent observing them and their individual personalities.

Now, alongside full-time work, I continue to develop my art practice. This balance allows me to create without pressure, focusing on painting when I can and letting my work evolve naturally over time.

Under the name Roode Rose Art, I focus on landscape paintings and animal portraits inspired by nature, atmosphere, and the individuality of animals. My aim is to create work that feels personal, expressive, and connected to the natural world.
